We may not be that far from the time when, à la The President’s Analyst, the phone company implants a transceiver in your skull, to simplify the task of making and receiving phone calls. In the meantime you can make due with the next best thing: Spracht’s Aura EQ Bluetooth headset.

And you wouldn’t be settling all that much, given the track record of phone companies with technology. The Aura EQ has twin switchable, focusable microphones; can be mated with up to eight phones; and has a built-in six-band equalizer. Volume control is capacitive--you just slide your finger up or down the base to increase or decrease volume. Unfortunately, as much as you might think wearing one will make you look cool, you’ll still come off as a poser.

The Aura EQ is expected to run about $79, and should be on the street sometime in March.
