Google Adds URL Shortener to Google toolbar

As Google launched updates this morning of Google Toolbar and FeedBurner, they included its newest service: Google URL Shortener (goo.gl). As micro-blogging continues to grow in popularity, add Goo.gl to the list of URL shortening services available to users.

By including the shortening service in Google Toolbar and FeedBurner, Google hopes to users will enjoy the easily accessible service included in a tool many already use. They can also boast stability and speed over other shortening services. Further, they will examine each shortened URL to ensure their destinations are not malicious.

At this time, Google URL Shortener is only available through Google Toolbar and Feedburner, it is not a stand-alone service, though it might be one day, depending on its popularity.
